A collaborative team effort went into renovation work at the Shawnee Maplewood Intermediate School during the summer break of 2014. Touchstone CPM led the team of local contractors to achieve complete demolition of the existing ceiling and systems. Once demoliltion was completed, new HVAC and electrical lighting systems were installed along with new ceiling. Roofing was also upgraded in addition to improved security systems and completion of general interior finishes. Smith Boughan Mechanical and Sidney Electric were key partners in completion of this project within 3 months in order for students to return to an upgraded learning facility.
This project was completed on a very tight 3-month schedule as the facility needed to resume occupancy on the first day of school 2014. Demolition and installation of new systems was occurring simultaneously to keep the project on schedule. Coordination of local subcontractors was key to achieving project goals and staying within schedule and on budget.
