Construction a new PK-6 (900 students/110,000 SF) and 7-12 school facilities (835 students/137,000 SF), totaling 247,000 square feet. The PK-6 building includes a main event gym and auxiliary gym for multi-use purposes and extra practice facilities. The design is a 2-story building with classroom wings and wide, brightly lit corridors, up-to-date security features and technology, and plenty of day-light. The new 7-12 junior/senior high building will also be a 2-story design with a separate wing for both the middle and high schools. Both facilities will have abundant natural lighting to reduce heating costs, dining space, media, art and music rooms and office spaces. Each building will target a minimum of LEED Silver certification through the USGBC. The buildings will be constructed on the existing school campus and will require large scale campus rework and the demolition of the three existing schools. The project will include a geo-thermal HVAC system and technology systems of the highest quality. The district is very community-focused and the facilities will be designed and constructed in a manner which will accommodate community gathering spaces.
