The Cardiology renovation is a 15,100 square foot renovation consisting of a relocation of the Audiology department including two sound booths, building a new heart catherization lab, a new rehabilitation center, demolition of four existing recovery bays and building a new interventional unit that includes 16 private patient recovery rooms, a centralized nurse station, a male and female locker room and stress testing rooms and pulmonary lab.
This new enlarged unit was remodeled on the second floor of the main hospital without any disruption to adjacent departments. Heart catherization procedures were maintained throughout the duration of the project. Many hurdles were encountered including existing unforeseen structural issues. These issues were addressed and did not cause any schedule delays or cost overruns.
