June 2016: Reading Community City School District has selected Shook Touchstone to provide construction management services for the new $43 million PK-12 school. This project is in conjunction with the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC).
The scope of the project includes a new 213,157 square-foot PK-12 school to house 1,715 students and will be located on the existing Reading Community Junior/Senior High School site, located at 810 E. Columbia Avenue, Reading, Ohio. Abatement and demolition of the Junior/Senior High School shall take place prior to starting construction of the new PK-12 building. Upon completion and turnover of the new PK-12 building, abatement and demolition of the existing Hilltop Community Elementary School and Central Community Elementary School will commence.
Substantial construction completion will be late 2018.
The architect on the project is Mason-based VSWC Architects.
This project makes over $900 million in PK-12 construction work the Shook Touchstone team has performed since its inception in 2007.
