April 12, 2017: Shook Touchstone, long-time construction management joint venture partners, has been notified by the U S. Green Building Council (USGBC) that the recent $52.8 million new additions/renovations project Shook Touchstone managed for Apollo Career Center has been awarded LEED Gold Building Certification. LEED which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, sets standards for building construction and operation that will have the least negative impact on the environment and the greatest benefit to the community and building occupants. LEED certified buildings save money for not only the school district, but also the taxpayers through the numerous environmental and energy efficiencies incorporated into the building design and construction.
Partnering with Shook Touchstone for the Apollo Career Center building project was Minster-based architectural firm, Garmann Miller & Associates. Apollo officially dedicated their new and improved career technical training facility to the public in September 2016 as part of its 40th anniversary celebration.
